~Names~

Well...I am the one holding up the NAME deciding. Is it bad that I don't want a nick name to take over our baby girl's real name?!? We really love the names: (Dawn is my middle name)

Madelyn Dawn
or
Madyson Dawn

and Marcus is set on Madelyn and calling her Mady! I love both names and always have, but I just don't want her to go to school and tell her teachers "my name is Mady" when IT ISN'T!!! I guess I have a funny thing about this since I was a teacher...or maybe it is JUST ME :)

Am I CRAZY???

You are not crazy...I understand from a teacher's point of view, but as long as you NEVER tell them its MADY they should stick to it...My friend just named her baby Madelyn Paige, and they are going to call her Mady? They are really cute names either way!! Congrats

I love the nick name Mady! I know you don't like nick names but I think it's really cute and love it. You have to love it though, you can't be just okay with your babies name. Both names are precious, I'm torn. But I've always called her Madelyn. Okay, about to go to bed. talk to you in am.

I know what you mean...except our issue (not that I'm pregnant or anything) is that Ryan doesn't want our kids to go by their middle name because that's what he has dealt with his whole life (Jared Ryan). But sometimes it just flows better to have one name before the other. Anyway, I think you'll know when you know. Does that make sense?? I LOVE both choices, and I'm glad she's going to have your middle name! Can't wait to see her. :)

I love both but I have always loved Madelyn! Very cute as a nick name but I understand what you mean. SO many people call Elle Ellie. We would have named her Ellie if we liked it so much : )
Both names are really cute though! You can't go wrong with either of them.

I love them both. They are the names Cheryl and Matt have had picked out forever because they want to call their little girl Mattie (of course their spellings are different and they aren't even pregnant). I understand the whole nick name thing from being a teacher, but that always wears off after the first week of school when the teachers learn the kids names instead of going by what the class roster says. They are both very pretty names! I can't wait to meet this new baby girl.

Hi Andrea! We went to high school together and I stumbled on your blog awhile back.

I had to comment on this because my husband and I have named our kids already (not pregnant yet!) and for the girl? Madeleine Kay (Kay's my middle name). I'm really looking forward to calling her Maddie. It's so cute!

But I hear you on the nickname thing. I always had a pet peeve with purposely misspelled names - Kaci, Lacee, etc.

Whatever you choose, I'm sure it'll be beautiful. Congratulations!

I love both names and love the nickname Mady. I like Madyson because it is a little different, but Madelyn has always been one of my favorite names. I am torn, but love that your sweet baby girl with have Dawn has her middle name. Miss you and hope to see you soon!!
