Halloween: After visits to the pumpkin patch and picking out the perfect costume and waiting and waiting…Halloween was finally here! Madelyn as Ariel (her fav princess) and Mason as Batman (The Dark Night) we were ready to paint the town getting as much candy as possible. The past couple of years we started our festivities out at our friend’s mom’s house. There we ate hotdogs and got our first round of candy to stash in our bags! We played with Lila and Jentry before heading out to Uncle Monte’s house! After we trick-or-treated at Uncle Monte’s house it was time to hit the neighborhood! This Halloween the neighborhood did not disappoint…FULL sized chocolate candy bars..YUM! After what seemed like a 10mile walk around the neighborhood…the kids were done…well they would have kept going but their buckets were overflowing with sugar…so we headed back home to inspect our loot. They had a wonderful time and so did we!
Christmas: I love love love this time of year….It all starts with my annual trip to the Nutcracker Market….this shopping always gets me in the Christmas spirit! Right around Thanksgiving up goes the tree, lights on the house, and decorations spread throughout the house! The kids love helping! This Christmas we had a little party at the house…lots of preparation, but I think this may be a Schultz annual tradition! And of course….the countdown to SANTA and Jesus’ Birthday! This year we did advent calendars….the kids loved waking up and checking out what lil surprise they had while counting down till the big day! We spent Christmas eve here with the Schultz and then after waking up and seeing the gifts Santa left them under tree…we headed to Austin to spend Christmas day with my family. It was such a wonderful Christmas! We are all blessed beyond measure!
New Years: Whew! We made it through another WONDERFUL year! It was time to celebrate 2011…and look forward to what 2012 was going to bring! We had a few friends over and to help us bring in the new year!! Ok…we didn’t actually stay up till midnight, but we did have a great time shooting off fireworks!
