WHAT A WEEKEND....

This weekend was packed full of FIRSTS!!! Mason, my mom and I headed to Austin to visit my sister this weekend. Aunt Jenny was missing her little nephew so we had to go visit. On Thursday evening we went out to dinner with cousins aunts and uncles for my mom's birthday. Mason was a trooper.....he was up way past his bed time with only one nap for the whole day!! He loves to look at his surroundings and just take in everything around him.....very observant :) Friday was a day of relaxing, and meeting new friends of Mason's. We went to lunch with my friend Angie and her little angel Ava. Ava is 6 months older than Mason. SHE was absolutely a beautiful little girl. After that we drug Mason to the Mall to buy HIM some more clothes. We got him a swimsuit for the summer, shoes (2 pair), jeans, a few shirts and some shorts......it is so much fun buying for a baby :) Then after a long afternoon we went back to Jenny's to rest. We put Mason on the floor and low and behold......he rolled right on over from his back to his belly!!! He has been rolling over from belly to back now he is really MOVING!!! I better watch out :) Later that evening I was on the phone with Marcus....since he had to work.....and Mason just started babbling baby talk. All of the sudden he babbled out DADA DADA DADA DADA.....a million times in a row!! It was SO CUTE!!!! I know......some may say they don't say their first words for a while, but I am COUNTING IT!! Mason said his first word DADA and Marcus heard every syllable :) I was laughing, crying from laughing, and just thinking.....my little boy is almost 6 months old!! He is such the talker now.....well....babbler always yelling out DADA DADA.....Marcus just grins ear to ear every time he hears it. I can't wait to carry on a conversation with my little blue eyed boy. We then headed home and have been talking non stop every since. What a wonderful ride Mason takes us one each day!! Here are a few pictures of this weekend. I just love my little boy!!

Jenny and Mason at lunch....just look at those dimples :) Me, Mason, Angie, Ava: Mason was ready for his lunch....he was tired of watching us eat!!

Feeding Mason a puff thingie.....did not know what to think....it ended up on his chin :)
Pictures of Mason in his new kicks, jeans and a shirt we got this weekend :) He sure is a Momma's boy :)

My Dad....The Author

My dad's passion has always been writing. The past couple of years he has written different pieces in his leisure time. He has written poetry, non-fiction, and horror. Last year he had his first book, Mind's Diary, published. We were so excited for him and anxious to see the book all finished. Mind's Diary is a collection of poetry he has written. His recent book The Release is HOT OFF THE PRESS . I can't wait to get my signed copy to read....even though I get to read bits and pieces before it goes to the publisher :) The other two pieces are Short Stories he has published on Amazon Shorts. One is about life as a Manager and the other is a Horror story. Everytime I go home my dad has many other pieces he is working on. I can't wait for more of his awesome work to be published for the world to read. We are very proud of him. Dad, keep writing! We look forward to the next book you will have published.

Sorry the pictures of the books are so little :(

NYC and Mason on the MOVE!!

Every year my sister and I have a yearly sometimes twice a year trip to NYC. This year Laura and Kristen came. We had so much fun!! First off let me say we BLEW into the city. On Friday, the winds were blowing so strong the temp was -9 with wind chill factor. YES that's right....we were tough enough to withstand the coldest day in NYC so far. That did not stop us....we were determined to have a great time.

On the subway headed to Canal street!! We did some damage there like always. Laura, loved the hats in NYC, but I bet the maid loves mine better :)

After a very WINDY day we went to dinner at this Itilian place called Vita. Jenny and I have been there 3 times and love it. It is now a tradition that when we go to NYC we eat at Vita.

We were about to go see Wicked. We posed for a quick pic in the lobby showing off our purchases. We all bought Spy bags while in NYC....Kristen bought a red one and decided it did not go well with plum, so she was Spy bagless for this pic.

One more stop before Wicked. We met my uncle Jason and aunt Kelly for dinner. He was in town for business the week before and we just happend to be there the same time. It was fun catching up with them and having dinner. YES....those are millions of wine glasses in front of us. We purchased the wine dinner where you had unlimited wine and a full course meal. Every time we looked up they were pouring more wine into our glasses......I got confused as to which wine was which.

Here we are leaving Wicked. This was my 2nd time to see the musical and I loved it and would see it for a 3rd or 4th time.

We left early on Sunday morning and I was sad to go, but in a hurry to get home to see my lil guy. I missed him so much. I think I called Daddy every hour to see how my man was doing. When I got home I ran past Marcus and straight to pick up my lil boy and give him the biggest hug. One more "first" happened when I got home. THANK GOODNESS Mason waited for momma to get home. He ROLLED OVER all by himself. He had just woken up from a nap and I went in to get him and right then he was trying to roll over. I ran for the camera and got pics of his first time to roll over. Now when I put him down for a nap he rolls over in his sleep. It is too cute to come in and he has rolled to his back and is staring up at me looking at me with his big blue eyes. I just love this little man. Now Mason is on the move.....how much fun I am having with my little boy!!!!

Cruising through January.....

This pic is of Mason in his favorite monkey slippers that rattle :) He is such a cutie!!
From right to left: Cade, Paige, Mason, and Jackson and Jayden
This month has flown by!! Mason turned 4 months old, he started eating cereal, fruits and veggies, and I leave for NYC in just 4 short days. I am excited, but also sad to leave my lil guy. I know he will be in good hands, but it is always hard to leave my little angel. Something must be in the water in TEXAS!!! Everywhere I turn someone else turns up pregnant!! 14 people at my former school are pregnant and most are having BOYS!! Our principal is frantically trying to find long term subs for all the pregnant people :) When I was pregnant there were quite a few others pregnant also. A few of us who had our babies with in months of eachother got together the other day at my friend Alison's house. She was the first to have her BABIES....(identical twin boys), then me, then Kristin (with the only girl), and last her sister Nicole. Above is a picture of them all together!! It will be fun for all them to grow up together.

What is this you are feeding me??

It seems like an eternity I found out I was pregnant with Mason....actully it was exactly one year ago today!! I never thought the first trimester was going to end, but I look back and realize time flew like always and now my son is 4 months old. When I think of it 4 months is young, but my boy is growing like a weed. We just went to his 4 month check up and boy is he getting big!! He weighed 15lbs 10ozs: 75%, 25 1/4 in long: 60%! I knew I was getting bigger muscles carring him around all day :) This visit the doc said to start him on cereal, fruits and veggies. I first started cereal. The first few days he did not know what to think, but being the great eater he is he enjoyed it. Here are a few 4 month pics of my growing lil man. I just love him so.

5 Years

You are in high school for 4 years and then to college (for most 4 years) I always thought that was an eternity.....was I ever going to graduate? Today is 5 years.....5 years of being married to my M. It is amazing how time goes by so fast. We have experienced many things, traveled many places, and grown so much in these past 5 years. Now we have a little boy together which makes life with Marcus an amazing adventure we get to go through together. I love him more and more each day and I am lucky God brought him to me! Here's to many more memorable years with M.

*For our anniversary we always take a trip sometime in the summer. We are going to the Caymans in June and I can't wait. As if that was not enough Marcus surprised me with a weekend getaway to relax. GannyD is flying in to keep our precious son while we take off to the Marriott and relax for the weekend. He is such a great husband!!

First Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas this year!! Santa and the Grandparents were very good to Mason....he has been a good boy ya know! I can' t wait until Mason can rip into the gifts....this year well....he watched us open, slept a little, and probably won't remember any of it, but we have it on tape :) We also took him to see Santa, but he was very tired and just looked at Santa like: WHO ARE YOU AND WHY IS MY MOM SITTING ME IN YOUR LAP, then he fell asleep again.

You know you are getting older when you are afraid of the fireworks of New Years waking up your child instead of you shooting off the fireworks. Needless to say we were all in bed by 10:00pm and the fireworks were going strong and they woke Marcus and I up at midnight, but Mason slept right through them!! He is a great sleeper :)

I hope everyone had a very Merry Chirstmas and Happy New Year.....no New Years resolutions for me this year that way maybe some of my goals will be kept!!

I've Been A Good Boy

The countdown is on.....25 days till Mason's First Christmas and almost a year ago when I found out I was pregnant. Boy does time fly. He has already had his first trip, first Halloween, first Thanksgiving and now in 25 days his first Christmas. If you can't read on his hat it says "I've been a good boy" and that rings true!! I could not have asked for a more precious gift. He has been sleeping through the night for almost a month now, he is always smiling, and he is my heart!! I could not imaging my life without him. He is stuck with us forever!!!

This week he has especially been a really good boy. His Uncle Monte is moving to Houston and he came to town for the week to look for a place to live before he starts his job next Monday. Monte, Mason, and I all week have been busy apartment huting, furniture shopping, and mall shopping for work clothes!! Mason tagged along all week and was a real trooper. Here are a few pictures of Mason today while we were furniture shopping. He was all smiles which warmed my heart on such a cold cold day.

*I am looking for a My first Christmas ornament and have not found the perfect one yet....if anyone knows of any place let me know.....I want something maybe personalized and for sure with the date on it. I have searched and searched and I am running out of ideas.

Dress Up

Only once in Mason's life will I ever get to play dress up with him......when he can't talk!! He tries to talk but I just pretend he is telling me how much he loves me and what a great mom I am instead of "stop dressing me up I just want to hang out in my diaper" One thing Mason is not lacking of is clothes. I find something new everyday. I have forgotten all the clothes he recieved from his showers and ones I bought when I was pregnant. I want him to get to wear all his clothes at least once, ya know. He also has more shoes than me!! The ones he has on are Robeez and they are wonderful....they can't kick them off and they seem very comfortable. He has quite a few pair of these, they come in all colors and different styles. My little man is getting so big I just can't believe my eyes when I look at him. I love every little piece of him.....my heart overflows with joy to have him in my life.

Road Trip

This past weekend Mason took his first road trip. WOW!!! There is so much you have to pack for a lil one....I almost forgot I had to pack for myself :) We went to Austin to visit my sister and to do a little shopping. My mom came too!! She rode with Mason and me to Austin. Mason was a real trooper. He slept the whole way in the car. My mom, sister and I went shopping in San Marcus on Monday while Papa (my dad) kept Mason. They had a little boy day of pooping, playing, and most imporantly sleeping. On Monday night Aunt Laura and Uncle Matthew came to see him. He just loved their company. She was so cute with him....he remembered her from when she first saw him only 2 days old. We all had a fun shopping, relaxing, and just hanging out in Austin and we are ready for the holidays. I can't believe only a short week until it is Thanksgiving.

These past two months have been a whirlwind. I can't believe how fast time flies. In my last couple weeks of pregnancy I thought a minute felt like an eternity and now the minutes fly by so quickly. It has been a blessing to have Mason in our lives and we are lucky to have such a wonderful baby. Each day I love making him smile. I can't wait till we will be watching our little guy play baseball, football, or whatever he desiers. I know that time will come shortly and I will enjoy the present because they grow and change daily. Here are a few pics from the Road trip and Mason having fun with mom and modeling his new ski cap.
